Breaking: Cachar Police confiscates Yaba tablet worth more than Rs 10 crore, arrests 2 including Manipur resident
The Lakhipur SDPO and his team have managed to confiscate huge amount of Yaba Tablets from a residence in Chandrapur Village of Lakhipur. The market value of the said consignment of yaba tablets is estimated to be over 10 crores. Two person were also arrested in this connection, among while one is a Manipuri citizen. The investigating team right now, is tracing more people involved in this illegal ring.
As per the available information from the police, based on a secret information of movement of NDPS Substance or YABA tablets in Baskandi area of Lakhipur Subdivision, SDPO of Lakhipur, IPS Dinesh Kumar along with investigating officer from Baskandi police post, Nafisur Rehman and other police personnel chased an accused named Nazim Uddin while delivering the NDPS material to another accused named Abdul Razak. The accused Nizam Uddin was delivering the narcotic substances to Abdul Razak’s residence from where both of them were arrested.
During this special operation 54000 YABA tablets were seized from the possession of these two accused. In a press briefing, the Superintendent of Cachar, APS Numal Mahatta siad, “This operation was made successful after tracking the intel for a long time. Right now we are tracking the backlink and the forward links of the apprehended and the drugs confiscated. The market value of these narcotic substance is estimated to be around 10 crores rupees”.
He further said, “Among the two arrested, Nazim Uddin is a resident of Thoubal in Manipur and the other Abdul Razak is from Chandrapur village of Lakhipur in Cachar”. Both the accused were apprehnded for the possession of these drugs based on the provisions of the NDPS Act. The SP has further assured to make more arrests in this connection.
