Businessman Arpu Paul returns to Silchar, Police says entire kidnapping incident fake

Arpu aka Arpu Paul, a businessman from Amarghat, finally returned and reached Silchar on Tuesday evening. After returning, Cachar Superintendent of Police Mul Mahato said that Arpu had left Silchar on his own will. The SP said, Arpu first went to Kolkata, then from there to Chennai. He also planned to go to Andaman from Chennai. In the meantime, the police came to know about his location in Chennai and started plans to go there. It is very likely that somehow the news that the police had found out about his location had reached Arpu as well. So he left for Silchar by train. And on Tuesday the police took him into their custody from the train at a station between Silchar and Lumding. Although the police is not sure why Arpu left on his own. Arpu is currently being interrogated to gather information about this.

In the morning, Arpu called his wife from Lumding. He told her that he was coming back. After reaching a station in the Silchar Lumding railway route, the police took him into their custody. But whatever the case may be, it is speculated that there may be some mystery behind Arpu’s disappearance.

Speaking to reporters the SP said, “We are currently interrogating Arpu. As per our data he went to Kolkata from Silchar and then to Chennai. He was also planning to go to Andaman from there. All sorts of video footage are with us. We know where he went, in which hotel he stayed and to whom he interacted with. The entire incident is fake and he did a fake drama. No one kidnapped him.”
