Cachar Admin starts door to door survey; "To arrange vaccination as per their convenience," DC
With a view to speeding up the COVID Vaccination programme, Cachar District Administration has started door to door survey to trace out the unvaccinated persons. The BLOs and the ASHAs will move to each household to not only collect information but also to facilitate the unvaccinated persons to receive the dose.
A meeting was held yesterday at the DRDA Conference Hall, Silchar under the chairmanship of Smt. Keerthi Jalli, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar and in presence of Sri. Elded Fairem, CEO, Zilla Parishad and Sri. Kamal Baruah, ADC. Functionaries of the Health Department and Election Department were also present.
Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli tells, “There may be some persons who could not turn up to the Vaccination Centres due to some reasons. We have to sort out their issues and arrange vaccination as per their convenience.” Seeking support of the public, she adds, “If a single person is left out, he will be a threat to not only his family but also to the whole society.”
Dr. Ashutosh Barman, Jt. Director of Health Services, who is a gynaecologist also tells that “After many rounds of research it has been found safe in pregnant women and lactating mothers as well. Hence, all the pregnant women and lactating mothers should come forward to get their doses.”
Up to 8 PM yesterday, 9,61,796 beneficiaries received their first dose and 3,34,013 got the second dose.
