Cachar DC reviews education scenario in schools, expresses disappointment over role of BEEOs
With the objective to streamline affairs related to education in the district, the Cachar district administration held a meeting on Tuesday to review the status of the scenario in different educational blocks of the district.
The meeting, chaired by Cachar deputy commissioner Laya Madduri, was attended by block elementary education officers and functionaries from the Sarbashiksha Abhiyan, executive magistrate Dibyajyoti Gogoi, additional deputy commissioner Ranadip Dam and other officials.
During the meeting, the deputy commissioner inquired about the pace of progress in the department and gave clear instructions to the BEEOs to ensure facilities of safe drinking water and toilets in all the schools of the district. Along with that, she asked the BEEOs to visit the schools in their respective blocks once a week and submit a review report with relevant pictures.
The deputy commissioner expressed disappointment over the performance of the BEEOs, which is affecting the overall environment of education at the schools. The teachers stated that the functioning in schools has been substantially affected because of NRC-related work.
