Cachar: Man goes missing suspiciously leaving his 4-year-old floating on a raft
In Udharbond, Moynarbond area, a man has gone missing suspiciously leaving his four-year-old child floating on a makeshift raft. As per available information, Kabir Mazumdar, a local resident had set his fishing net (Fash Jaal) near the Moynarbond Railway Station. Today afternoon, he had gone to check the net, something that he does regularly.
He sat on his makeshift raft along with his four-year-old kid and both of them sailed to the net. He left his kid on the raft and went to check the net. However, from there he went missing suspiciously.
The locals have informed that Kabir Mazumdar knows how to swim and he takes his kid everyday to the fishing nets. “He can easily swim across a river. It is shocking that someone who knows how to swim so well went missing,” said a local resident. He added, “We saw the kid alone on a raft and so we started panicking. Eventually, the kid was dragged to the shore. However, Kabir Mazumdar is still missing.”
NDRF and SDRF have started a search and rescue operation in the Moynarbund area. The locals suspect Kabir Mazumdar could have got bitten by a reptile which must have affected his consciousness however, these are all speculations at the moment. How did someone who knows how to swim go missing while performing what is very much his routine activity is something that the locals are finding worrisome.
