
Cachar Observes ‘Samvidhan Hatya Divas’ with Rally, Film screening: District Administration, DDIPR & Cultural Affairs Join Hands to Mark the Day
The District Administration Cachar, in collaboration with the District Cultural Affairs Office and the Regional Office of Information & Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar, solemnly observed ‘Samvidhan Hatya Divas’ on Wednesday, June 25, with a series of meaningful activities to honour the sanctity and democratic spirit of the Indian Constitution.
The day’s observance began with a symbolic rally that was flagged off by the District Commissioner of Cachar, Mridul Yadav, IAS, from the premises of the DC’s office in the afternoon. The rally, echoing messages of constitutional values and democratic awareness, traversed through the main streets of Silchar, drawing the attention and engagement of the general public before returning to the DC’s office campus.
The highlight of the event continued with a special screening of a short documentary film titled “India – The Mother of Democracy” at the old conference hall of the DC’s office. The screening served as a thought-provoking reminder of India’s rich democratic legacy, resilience, and the constitutional ethos that binds the nation together.
The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries, including Additional District Commissioner Hemanga Navis, ACS, Assistant Commissioner and In-Charge of the DDIPR Barak Valley Zone, Deepa Das, ACS, and Assistant Commissioner and In-Charge of Child Development and Protection Officer, Anjali Kumari, ACS, along with enthusiastic participation from officials and staff of the District Administration Cachar.
Through the rally and documentary screening, the District Administration Cachar reaffirmed its commitment to upholding democratic ideals and raising awareness among citizens about the importance of preserving the Constitution and its values.
