Cachar Police arrests two while doping in public

Cachar Police on Saturday arrested two men near Dascolony in Silchar while consuming drugs in public. Accused are Nizamuddin Laskar, resident of Kanakpur pt-2 and Apu Das resident of Sharatpalli.

According to an eyewitness, the incident happened around 11:30 AM on Saturday when some locals spotted an auto standing at a location from quite a long period of time with two persons in and screens down. On suspicion, locals approached the auto to find that two persons are doping sitting on the rear seat of the auto.

The locals immediately notified it to the police, who on reaching arrested the youths.

According to police sources, the two men have been arrested and are under investigation. Both are residents of Sharatpalli and Kanakpur areas. “The two were intoxicated when they were detained” the source informed.

Asim Das, the local commissioner, who also helped the locals to get the accused arrested, said “I applaud the boys of the area for their awareness and intelligence. We are taking various steps to eradicate drugs in our area. We are up against all kinds of drugs as a result of which the men were arrested and handed over to the police today. An example has been set by the locals and in future people will fear to come and consume drugs here”.
