Cachar Police confiscates 200 grams of suspected brown sugar from Dholai, arrests two

Acting on a secret tip, Dholai Police recovered huge quantities of brown sugar and arrested two individuals on the same case. On Thursday evening, under the leadership of Dholai Police Station’s SI, Pranjal Lakra, this raid was successful. The two arrested have been caught in the Debipur area of Jibangram in Dholai.

The two arrested have been identified as, Tapan Sharma, 35 years old of Nutan Bajar and Jayanta Roy, 40 years old of Bidyaratanpur. Both are residents of Dholai. During the operation, the police recovered 3 soap cases from them. These were filled with suspected brown sugar.

The net weight of the brown sugar was measured at 200 grams. The market value of this drug is yet to be found.

The Police informed that a case has been registered against the arrested individuals for possession of suspected narcotic drugs. The police had also started their investigation of the case. They’ll be produced in court to determine their sentence. Brown sugar is poor-quality cocaine or morphine-based drug.
