Cachar Police diffuses the bomb at Khulicherra; "Investigation will continue to expose the motive," SP Ramandeep Kaur
Today morning, Superintendent of Cachar Ramandeep Kaur along with a bomb squad team reached the bomb-site in Khulicherra. For the freshers, a bomb was spotted near an underconstruction site at Assam – Mizoram border within the jurisdiction of Cachar District Administration. On November 6, 2021, Cachar Police launched an investigation and the bomb was finally diffused earlier today.
SP Cachar, Ramandeep Kaur informed that the bomb was diffused following the standard operating procedure. “Preliminiary, investigation reveals that the bomb was a package of gelatin sticks connected with detonators. Why was the package kept there and with what intention. Investigation will continue to nab the culprits and expose the motive,” said SP Ramandeep Kaur.
She added, “These sort of bombs are generally used in stone quarries and also by fishermen.”
After five days, finally the bomb story has reached the climax. However, this story has again exposed that all is not okay between neighbouring states – Assam and Mizoram. The necessity of high level discussion between the two governments with intervention from the Centre is what the need of the hour is. Otherwise, July 26, 2021, is witness to the fact that tension mounts like a time bomb only waiting to explode to cause bloodbath.
