
Cachar reports 17 new COVID positive cases today; Student from SMCH, residents of Tarapur among others
In the first lot of COVID test reports released by the Silchar Medical College and Hospital 17 individuals found carrying the infection.
From BSF’s Dholcherra camp, Lilu Ram (53) and Mahesh Kumar (30) tested positive. Both of them have traveled to Cachar from other parts of the country. Bhosle Santaji (41) from the same camp, who came in close contact with a COVID positive patient has also tested positive for COVID 19.
Air Passenger from Chennai, Kalain’s Tarak Aziz (21), from Pune, Amraghat’s Lavu Sharma (22), from Kolkata, NS Avenue’s Alspesh Rajapati (28) also found carrying the virus.
Another day when several individuals who traveled from Bangalore tested positive. They are: Rukmani Tea Estate’s, Punam Kurmi (35) Silcoorie’s Biswajit Mal (24) and Anita Mala (35), Bagh Bahar Tea Estate’s Sanju Mohali (22), Motinagar Sonai’s Hemanta Das (38), Kalain’s Sukur Ahmed (20).
In CRPF’s Dayapur Camp Indrajit Kumar (37) who traveled from Bihar was found infected by the coronavirus.
The alarming disclosure in the first lot are two individuals from Tarapur area who did not have any travel history and tested positive. Tarapur’s Subrat Ghosh (41) was suffering from cough and fever for seven days and when he went to see the doctor he was prescribed a COVID test. As a shock to him, he has tested positive. Another similar case was reported in Tarapur. Rajdeep Singh (26) was also suffering from fever and cough for five days and he has tested COVID positive indicating a possible community transmission in Tarapur area.
Like the two individuals from Tarapur, Kanakpur’s Pranbandhu Paul (62) was also suffering from fever and he has tested positive for COVID 19.
Undergraduate student at Silchar Medical College and Hospital Jayashree Kumari (22) has also tested positive.
