Cachar SP Rakesh Roushan transferred; MugdhaJyoti Dev Mahanta to replace him

 

In yet another major reorder in the State Police ranks ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, along with other parts of the state, DIG Southern Range and Superintendents of Police for Cachar and Karimganj districts have been altered.

DIG (Security) Prasanta Kumar Dutta IPS will join as the new DIG (Southern Range) replacing present DIG Debraj Upadhyay IPS, who has been promoted as Joint Commissioner of Police in the Commissionerate of Police at Guwahati.

There are new faces in the ranks of SPs for Cachar and Karimganj as well. Mugdhyajytoi Dev Mahanta; APS SP Tinsukia will take charge as new Cachar SP. Rakesh Roushan IPS has been transferred as SP Biswanath.

On the other hand, Golaghat SP Manabendra Dev Ray APS is the new Karimganj SP as Gaurav Upadhyay IPS has been transferred as SP Karbi Anglong.

It may be mentioned that, in similar orders issued recently, Deputy Commissioners of three districts of Barak Valley were also changed and transferred. While Laya Madduri IAS DC Dibrugarh will join as new Cachar DC, present DC Dr S Laxmanan has been transferred as DC Sivasagar. PB Roy ACS and J Keerthi are the new DCs of Karimganj and Hailakandi districts respectively.

Meanwhile, Jagadish Das APS Additional SP (Headquarter) Hailakandi will join as Additional SP (Headquarter) Cachar while Rakesh Reddy has been transferred and is allowed to hold charge in the rank of SP/CO as Commandant 26th AP (IR) Bn.
