Cachar: Woman arrested with contraband items and more than 7 lakh cash

Amid nationwide lockdown, a woman was arrested and huge quantity of contraband item was seized from her possession, along with cash of around 7.11 lakhs rupees in Cachar district on Saturday.

Acting on a tip off, Cachar police on Saturday night launched a raid at residence of Premaboti Singh at Dudhpatil’s Kharilpar and seized 54.7 kg Cannabis along with cash of rupees 7.11 lakhs from her possession. According to reports, the police team was led by TSI of Sadar Thana Anku Saikia.

Sources informed that corona test was done of the apprehended lady and then was taken into judicial custody by the police.
