Cash for Job: Police arrests Purabi Dutta from Ambikapatty

She would allegedly assure government job and in return took Rs 2 lakh from a jobseeker a year back. In an astonishing turn of affairs, Silchar Sadar Police officials finally arrested Purabi Dutta from Ambikapatty.

A female resident of Sonai area lodged a complaint on July 17, 2019, alleging Purabi Dutta of conspiring against her. In the complaint, the female jobseeker alleged that a retired employee of the agricultural department Purabi Dutta assured her a government job and in return took Rs 2 lakh from her a year back. Since last year, she has been chasing Purabi Dutta but neither got a job nor Dutta returned her money. As a result of that, she lodged a complaint at Silchar Sadar Police Station.

The incident of police arresting a 64-year-old retired employee from her residence came in as a shock for locals. They demanded a detailed investigation so that the truth is revealed.
