Cattle smuggling continues in Cachar: Six cows recovered, two persons held by public

The saga of cow smuggling continues in Cachar. This time two vehicles loaded with smuggled cows were seized by the public. 6 cows from an Alto and a Magic truck were seized by people of Govindapur, Katigorah in Cachar district at night. The angry people vandalized the Magic truck. The rescued cow and the two smugglers were handed over to the police by the public.

Since many days there were complaints of cow smuggling going on near the Bangladesh border. On Thursday night, people of Govindapur in Katigorah crusaded against cow smuggling. After a vigorous search operation, the public rescued 6 cows from a Magic truck and an Alto car. They also held two smugglers who were involved in the smuggling of those cows. After rescuing cows from the two vehicles the public turned angry. They vadalized the Magic truck. The rescued cows and smugglers were later handed over to the police by the public.

The registration no. of Alto car has been identified as AS 11X 6531 while that of the Magic truck is AS 11BC 0184
