Child's chopped leg found on the side of the road in Shivalik Park, Meherpur

Leg of an alleged newborn baby found lying in Shivalik Park, Meherpur. The residents of Shivalik Park were astonished to see a stray dog running with a chopped human leg in Silchar. The locals yelled at the dog and it dropped the leg and ran away.

Secretary of the development committee, Debashish Paul informed that the chopped leg was found on the main road near lane number five. The locals informed Rangirkhari Police Station and in-charge PK Deka reached the spot with his team.

The Police officials recovered the chopped piece of leg and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. “Since the chopped piece of leg was carried by a dog, it is difficult to trace the source. Also, it will be a challenge to find the remaining parts of the body,” said Deka.

He added that the Police will investigate the matter, “Silchar Medical College and Hospital is not that far away from Shivalik Park. So we need to check if a dog entered the morgue and ran away with the chopped piece of leg. We will also investigate if any child in the locality went missing recently,” added Deka.
