CID arrests former Sonai MLA, Congress' Anamul Haque Laskar

In 2011, he was one of the most popular Congress leaders in Barak Valley and just eight years down the line he has been nabbed by the CID. Former Sonai MLA and veteran Congress leader Anamul Haque Laskar has been reportedly arrested by CID in Guwahati earlier today.

If reports are to be believed then Laskar has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a multi-crore scam in the irrigation department. Anamul Haque Laskar was replaced by BJP’s Aminul Haque Laskar as the Sonai MLA in 2016.

Anamul Haque Laskar is a Civil Engineer (AEC Guwahati) and was employed in the irrigation department of the Government of Assam before he got into politics.
