Clash between two groups in Silchar Central Road, Owner of Calcutta Flower Decorator currently fighting for his life
A minor incident turned into a violent clash at Silchar Central Road on the day of Holi, leaving Dipankar Ghosh, proprietor of Calcutta Flower Decorator, critically injured. He was later admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).
Eyewitnesses report that a scuffle broke out between two groups over road crossing, which was eventually stopped by the police at metro bazar point. However, chaos broke out again after the police left, with both sides hurling verbal abuses and later engaging in physical fights. The two groups hit each other with whatever they could find infront of their hands.
The incident took place at the Old Annapurna Cinema Hall Point located in Silchar Central Road. According to witnesses, an unknown youth struck Dipankar Ghosh severely with a bamboo stick, causing him to fall to the ground. The attacker continued to assault Dipankar by punching him on the face and head while sitting on his chest. Later, the attacker and his companions fled the scene after the locals and police intervened. The police reserved an auto for taking Dipankar to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment. They also detained a person in connection with the assault.
Dipankar Ghosh is currently receiving treatment at Silchar Medical College Hospital as per latest reports.
Update: Daugther of Dipankar Ghosh shared a statement, “I m dipankar Ghosh’s daughter there is no such things that he is fighting for his life he is alright and he is with us at our home and they r just posting these things without any confirmation.”
