CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to lead Assam Cabinet to Lord Ram's temple in Ayodhya on Feb 22

January 22, 2024, marked a significant day for the nation, with a festive atmosphere enveloping the entire country as the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram took place at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. In honor of this auspicious occasion, several states refrained from the sale of meat, fish, and other non-vegetarian items and even declared a dry day to uphold the sanctity of the event.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urged the public to follow the same and encouraged them to offer a special prayer in the evening. In Assam, people celebrated with devotional songs (Bhajans) and illuminated their homes with lamps.

On the other hand, the state held a Cabinet Meeting, where pivotal decisions were made. Among the notable decisions, a special announcement was made for the Council of Ministers. As per reports, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is to take his ministry for a visit to Ram Mandir in Ayodhya next month, on February 22. This decision was finalized during the cabinet meeting.

Additionally, the cabinet emphasized taking stringent action against any government employee engaged in corrupt activities. The arrangements for the flag-hoisting ceremony on January 26 and the approval for the promotion of assistant professors in regional colleges were also part of the cabinet’s deliberations. Special actions targeting irregularities in government job appointments was among the other crucial decisions made during the meeting.
