CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to visit Silchar: Here is the detailed plan of his visit

Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam is visiting Cachar today, 21st January. In Silchar he has a fully packed schedule, where the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Cath Lab at SMCH and will attend various ceremonies at Assam University and different places across the district. His schedule also has other party works and according to sources, he will spend the whole day in the district and will leave for Guwahati tonight.

According to his schedule which looks very hectic, he will arrive at the Silchar Airport in Kumbhirgram by flight at 10:30 AM. After his hour long flight from Guwahati, he will leave the Silchar Airport for Silchar Medical College and Hospital at 10:40 AM. At SMCH, the main event for which the entire valley has been waiting for is the inauguration of Cath Lab. After a brief halt at SMCH, Dr. Biswa Sarma will attend the inauguration ceremony of the awaited Lab at 11:25 AM. Along with that, he will also inaugurate the Doctor’s Hostel for married PG Doctor couples. After all the ceremonies, the CM will leave for Assam University at 12:10PM by road to attend the University’s foundation day and other engagements as per the fixed schedule.

At Assam University, the CM will be revived by the University authority where he is scheduled to attend the 29th Foundation Programme of AUS. He will arrive at the University campus at 12:30 in the afternoon. In the said program, various guests including the MP Cachar, Dr. Rajdeep Roy, MLA Parimal Suklabaidya will be present as the Guest of Honour, along with Ashok Singhal, the Guardian Minister of Cachar and the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the University.

The CM will address the students and faculty of the University at 01:07 PM according to the schedule prepared by the AUS Registrar. After the programme at university auditorium, the CM is scheduled to have his lunch at the Assam University Campus itself. After the completion of all the ceremonies and lunch at AUS, the CM will visit the residence of Mr. Kriti Purkayastha after which he will leave for the office of the Deputy Commissioner at Silchar and arrive there at 2:45 PM to attend the review meeting along with the Deputy Commissioner and other dignitaries of the administration. After the end of his program at the DC’s Office, he will leave for Circuit House, where he is scheduled to arrive at 04:30 in the evening and will attend certain scheduled meetings after 06:00 PM. In this reserved meeting, he will address the party workers and other petitioners.

His last activity in the town is a visit to the residence of Mr. Karnendu Bhattacharjee, Ex MP, Cachar at Cachar High School Road, Malugram, where he will arrive at 07:10 PM and leave after twenty minutes. Later, he will leave and arrive the Kumbhirgram Airport at 08:00 PM for his scheduled flght. His flight will take off at 08:15 at night and reach the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at 09:15 PM. The Assam Police has also been briefed about his schedule for providing foolproof VIP security at all the places of his visit and look after the COVID protocols as well. Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is a “Z+” Category protected in India.
