Corona: Schools, Colleges, Universities, Gyms, Theatres, Pools to remain shut till March 29 in Assam

Covid-19 is spreading fast and keeping the pandemic in mind the chief secretary of Assam, Sanjay Krishna took some important decisions. So far it has been understood that the best way to restrict the Corona-infection is by limiting human touch and public gathering. Though the venomous virus which has already claimed two lives in India and infected more than 100 individuals is yet to run havoc in the Northeast the Assam government is not taking any chances.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Krishna announced today, “All school, colleges, universities, gyms, swimming pools and cinema halls will remain closed in the state till March 29.” The order is effective immediately which means the education institutions and commercial complexes will remain shut from tomorrow onwards.

It is worth mentioning here that many colleges had their internal examinations scheduled next week. A GC College’s degree-student said that they had their examination scheduled next week and the college administration has not communicated it yet if they test stands postponed. However, the chief secretary of Assam made it clear, “All examinations, except that of state & CBSE boards, have been postponed in view of Corona Virus.”
