COVID related death analysis in Cachar; Out of 97 dead so far, 71 over 50 years, 7 in Green Heals
Till September 22, 2020, 97 individuals died with coronavirus infection in the body in Cachar district. Of them, 30 have been classified as COVID death by the state-level audit board. Remaining 67 has been segmented as non-COVID death.
71 of the 97 are male while 26 are female. The death rate is high among patients aged more than 50. 40 individuals who have died with coronavirus infection are above 65 years old. 31 are in the 60 to 65 age group.
The youth are not immune to the virus either. 22 individuals who have succumbed are in the age group between 10 and 50 years old. Four kids bellow 10 years old have also died after getting infected by the virus.
Hospital wise, in Silchar Medical College and Hospital 85 have succumbed of which 28 have been adjudged as COVID death and remain 57 as non-COVID. SMCH has been treating critical and symptomatic COVID patients since March 30, 2020.
After SMCH, the most number of deaths have been reported at Green Heals Hospital. The private nursing home started treating patients from August and so far, according to the administration, 7 individuals from Cachar have succumbed. Out of them, three have been classified as COVID death and remaining four as non-COVID.
In Valley Hospital three died so far with coronavirus infection in the body and out of them, two are non-COVID. In Cachar Cancer Hospital one died so far and one resident of the district died before admission to any hospital.
