Dacoits loot two houses in Kalain, fires five rounds; Cash, jewelley looted, 2 admitted to SMCH
Another case of armed burglary in Cachar district. Last night, a group of armed dacoits entered the resident of Imdadul Rahman Barbhuiya and Makmadul Rahman Barbhuiya in Kalain’s Dhumkar area.
As per available information, the armed dacoits entered the residences of Imdadul and Makmadul at around 1:00 am. The dacoits broke into one house after another within the same premises. When Makmadur Rahman’s sons tried to stop them, the dacoits launched an attack.
Eventually, the dacoits looted both the houses. As per the family members, cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh and nine bhori gold jewellery. The incident occurred near Kalain Bazar where 30 shops in a commercial complex were allegedly looted by thieves.
Yesterday, when the locals tried to stop the armed dacoits, they opened fire, leaving two severely wounded. Locals informed that as many as five rounds were fired. Mashuk Hussain and Javed Hussain got severely injured and they are now admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
While the Police claims it has patrolling units that keep patrolling the area at night, the thieves and dacoits seem to be indifferent of these activities. It was all over in the news that 30 stores were looted and the very next night, the dacoits looted houses of two businessmen which shows that they do not fear the local police.
