Daily direct flight between Silchar and Imphal to start from November 25, will take just 40 mins to reach

The distance between Silchar and Imphal reduces as the Aviation Ministry of India announces direct flight. The connectivity between the two states will improve after the introduction of this direct flight. This direct flight connectivity will commence from November 25 this year and will be operated by Alliance Air.

In a Tweet, the Union Minister for Civil Aviation announced this flight. It will save time for those taking flights from Silchar to Imphal as the current route either connects via Kolkata Airport or Shillong Airport.

In his post, minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia wrote, “In order to expand the network of aviation in the North East, a direct flight between Imphal and Silchar is being started on 25 November 2022.” Tagging Alliance Air he further added, “This flight will bring convenience and time savings in regional travel. Along with this, the development of the North East will gain momentum”.

The flight will take off daily from Silchar Airport at 1:30 PM and reach Imphal at 2:10 PM. From Imphal, the flight will take off daily at 12:25 PM and land in Silchar at 1:05 PM. The flying duration between the two towns reduces by 3 hours compared to the usual route via the Kolkata Airport.
