Das Colony youth found dead in the heart of the town; family blames love affair

Yesterday morning residents of Lochan Bairagi Road in Silchar woke up to a horrifying scene. A young man was found lying on the road next to a motorbike. Before the early-risers could gather any idea of what could have happened an old man appeared and claimed that the dead man is his grandson.

The locals found out from the old man that the deceased is a resident of Das Colony’s Udayan Complex. His name as said by his grandfather is Sudip Deb and age is around 26 years old. Eyewitnesses say that there were marks of injuries on his head.

While the locals were still standing there, other family members of Deb reached the spot and rushed the dead body to their home in an auto-rickshaw. Police was then informed about the incident, officials from Rangirkhari and Silchar Sadar Police Station reached the spot and recovered the motorbike. They then went to the deceased’s home and sent the body for postmortem.

While locals suggested that it is murder the investigating officers refused to speculate and said they would wait for the postmortem report.

Police said that the family members of the deceased informed that Deb left the house after getting a call from a girl on Saturday night. After that, he did not reach home back. They alleged that his death has something to do with the affair he was in. The family members urged the Police to investigate the matter.
