Degree level education to be made free for students, announces Education Minister

The Assam Government has brought good news for the degree level students this year. They are going to offer free education to the undergraduate students.

Education Minister Himanta announced this decision stating that the poor students of degree second semester and third semester will get free admission in the colleges from now on. The students of higher secondary level will also get free admission and free textbooks within ten days of admission, said the minister in his speech at the Darrang district.

It may be mentioned that the government had arranged distribution of textbooks free of cost to the ninth and tenth class students and then the higher secondary students as well. Students of undergraduate level will get immensely benefitted now. After this announcement, it is expected that the education scenario in the state will improve further and the poor students will be able to do further studies.
