Delayed Fire Brigade Response: Daily Wager's Home Reduced to Ashes in Kachudaram

A massive fire engulfed and destroyed the home of a daily wage labourer in Kachudaram, East Sonai, on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred around 4:30 PM at the residence of Akhtar Uddin Laskar, son of Fazar Ali Laskar, in Kachudaram Part 1.

On December 10, a suspected short circuit sparked a fire that quickly spread to the thatched home of Laskar. The flames intensified rapidly, and efforts to contain them proved futile. The situation escalated when a cooking gas cylinder inside the house exploded, causing a deafening blast that shook the neighbourhood.

Local residents rushed to help, attempting to extinguish the flames with water and sand, but their efforts proved futile.

Firefighters were alerted but arrived too late to save the house. Everything inside was reduced to ashes, including stored rice, clothing, and essential household items. The family of Baktar Uddin has been left destitute by the tragedy.

Preliminary reports suggest that an electrical short circuit caused the fire.
