Devastating fire destroys godown containing old tin iron and cars on Silchar-Aizawl National Highway

A devastating fire occured late night and burnt a godown containing old tin iron and old cars. The incident of fire took place at the godown located between Panibhora and Katakhal on Silchar-Aizawl National Highway No. 306 adjacent to line hotel.

Suddenly, the locals witnessed the godown in flames. The information given to the Fire Service and Dholai Police Station. After getting the news of the incident, two engines of fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The warehouse was completely destroyed due to fire. However, the nearby line hotel was protected as the fire service reached on time.

It is known that there was no one in the godown during the incident. The reason of the fire is not known however many are assuming that a short circuit maybe the cause. The amount of damage is estimated to be worth few lakhs of rupees.
