Devastating fire engulfs stationery shop at Arkatipur, Goods worth 10 lakhs destroyed

A massive fire broke out at Imran Enterprise, a stationery shop located at Arkatipur Point, this afternoon, resulting in the complete destruction of the establishment. The fire, believed to have been caused by a short circuit inside the shop, quickly spread, leaving behind a trail of devastation.

As per reports, the shop owner closed the store to attend Friday prayers when the unfortunate incident occurred. The fire, fueled by stationery goods and other flammable materials, engulfed the shop within moments, prompting locals to take immediate action.

Recognising the severity of the situation, locals tried to control the flames by breaking the shutter of the shop. However, their efforts were not enough to contain the fire, leading them to call for professional assistance. The fire brigade was swiftly informed and promptly arrived at the scene to join the fight against the relentless blaze.

Through combined efforts from the locals and the firefighting team, the fire was eventually brought under control after an intense struggle. Nevertheless, the damage to the shop was extensive, with goods worth approximately 10 lakhs rupees reduced to ashes.

In a statement to reporters, the shop owner said, “After attending the namaz, the locals informed me about the fire at my shop. They broke the shutter and called the fire brigade. Goods worth around 10 lakh rupees got destroyed in the fire.”
