Did the mother sell her own kids? 20 days gone, Sourav-Supriya still missing
People of Ashram Road Silchar are losing their trust on Cachar Police. Their belief has reached to a point where they feel the Police does not care about Sourav and Supriya Das missing since June 9, 2019. So, several unions and organisations are planning to agitate in order to garner Police’s attention in this case. A member of the ‘Koiborto Unnayan Parishad’ went on to say, “Cachar Police managed to arrest the miscreants who attacked the Haj Pilgrims within a period of 12 hours. Well done, but what about Supriya and Sourav they are missing since 20 days and the Police is just waiting and watching.”
On Monday, the Parishad along with other organisations will agitate in front of DC’s office. They have also appealed to people from all spheres to join the protest and demand for a quick recovery of Supriya and Sourav.
On June 9, 2019, Sourav Das and Supriya Das children of Surodhan and Somobala Das, resident of Tapaban Lane located in Ashram Road, Silchar went missing. Supriya Das is a 5-year-old student of Durgashankar Pathshala and Sourav Das who is 12, studies at Adharchand High School.
As per sources, after a family fight, mother Somabala Das left the house with both her kids and never returned. Three days later, Cachar Police found Somabala Das standing in front of Gobindobari in Ashram road and took her home. After an initial investigation, she was sent to Police remand following which the Police sent her to jail on charges of selling her own kids. While that was good progress to the investigation, as a matter of surprise the progress halted there and there is no clue about where Sourav-Supriya is.
Accusing Cachar Police of not giving importance to the case, ‘Koiborto Unnaiyan Parishad’ and many other organisations have called for a march on July 1, 2019. They will walk up to the deputy commissioner’s office in Silchar and agitate there.
