Doctor beaten black and blue by GP President's husband in Jalalpur, later arrested by Police

An on duty doctor was beaten brutally by Runu Nath, husband of GP President in Jalalpur. The doctor was dragged out of the Primary Health Center and then punched, thrashed by the GP President’s husband alongwith his companions. The incident took place in Jalalpur Block Primary Health Centre. The husband of Kushiarkul GP’s President was later arrested by the Police based on the doctor’s complaint. Rest of the accused are absconding. The visuals of the fight were captured on mobile phones by eye witnesses.

Dr. Rohit Daga was on duty at the Primary Health Centre at night. Local Congress leader and husband of Kushiarkul GP’s President, Runu Nath suddenly arrived at the hospital accompanied by his companions. Runu and his companions got into an argument with the doctor over something inside the health centre. The situation became so egregious that Runu dragged the doctor out of the health centre and beat him badly infront of other people. People present at the spot recorded the incident on their mobile phones. After the intervention of locals, the doctor was rescued from the clutches of Runu.

The doctor later filed a complaint at Gumrah Police Station. Launching an investigation into the incident, the Police arrested Runu. Rest of the accused are still absconding. The incident has caused a strong reaction among the medical fraternity.
