Doctors, nurses on duty in Civil Hospital's COVID block among 88 to test positive in Cachar on July 22

After crossing the 100 mark on two consecutive days, today the number of cases has dropped to 88. The district health department informed that there were are few cases from Assam Rifles, a few air passengers, individuals with ILI symptoms, and health workers.

Early in the day, cardiologist, PC Sarma tested positive. Later doctors and nurses of Silchar Civil Hospital treating patients in the COVID ward were also diagnosed carrying the infection.

46-year-old, ENT Specialist, Dr. Juri Sharma who was in COVID duty at Silchar Civil Hospital tested positive. Along with her, DNM, KH. Bemsena Singha (29) aslo tested positive.

Jahangir Alam Laskar (19), Manjura Begum Mazumder (48), Abdul Matib Laskar (50), Shamima Laskar (16) all are associated with the Silchar Civil Hospital and tested positive for the virus.

Associated with Mediland Hospital, Kalam Mazumder (34), Purnima Roy (52) were diagnosed carrying the infection.
