"Don't test our patience, remember Godhra, Nellie," VHP's Mithun Nath's clarion call in Silchar
The Vishva Hindu Parishad’s members organised a huge demonstration near Khudiram Bose’s statue at the heart of Silchar town. Mithun Nath, Cachar Secretary of Vishva Hindu Parishad who is known for not mincing his words, was as usual controversial with his statements. The demonstration was against the murder of 23-year-old Bajrang Dal activist, Harsha who was stabbed to death in Karnataka’s Shivamogga.
Harsha’s father alleged that miscreants belonging to the Muslim community stabbed him to death following his post questioning the allowance to enter schools and institutions wearing Hijab. India Today report quoted Shivamogga SP, Lakshmi Prasad stating that six people have been arrested in connection with the stabbing incident. The report added, “The accused have been identified as Asif, Sayed Nadeem, Rehan Sharef, Nihan, Abdul Afnan and Kashif. A total of 12 people were questioned and six were arrested.”
Though the Police took immediate action, Mithun Nath accused the administrations across the country and Cachar district in particular of “appeasement”. He said, “Though the government has banned slaughter houses within 5km radius of temples, we have seen slaughtered heads of Gau Mata in Das Colony in recent past. We complained about the same to Cachar SP and yet, no actions were taken against them.”
Nath, who had once warned the Hindus against visiting Churches on Christmas Day, has again raised a clarion call. “A riot is looming large over our heads and it is time for us to join the organisation and strengthen the foothold in Barak Valley,” he said. Adding, “They have killed Kamlesh Tiwari, they have killed Harsha two of our girls are missing from Sonai and Kalain. They are victims of Love-Jihad. They think they can ruin us and we will stand and stare. To them, I want to say, don’t test our patience, remember Godhra, Nellie. Hindus never want riots but if you test our patience, Ganga or Bramhaputra’s flow will fail to the flow of what I won’t break down further.”
Mithun Nath was joined by hundreds and the aggressive-provocatory speeches followed one after another. Just a stone’s throw distance away from the office of Deputy Commissioner, the VHP conducted the demonstration. “When we lose our patience, we have seen how they run for their lives in Godhra, Nellie. So, again I reiterate, do not test our patience,” said Mithun Nath.
