In a significant step towards combating the drug menace, the Cachar Police today conducted a massive drug destruction operation on the occasion of Drugs Destruction Day. Drugs worth a staggering 150 crore rupees were burnt to ashes at a brick quarry in Srikona, Cachar. These drugs had been seized during various anti-drug raids in the district, reflecting the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies to make Assam drug-free.

The confiscated contrabands included a variety of illicit substances, comprising 3.302 kilograms of heroin, 1,473,765 Yaba tablets, 212.951 kilograms of marijuana and 3,729 bottles of cough syrup.

The Cachar Police, along with other district police forces, has been waging a relentless war against drug peddlers and smugglers, leading to numerous successful operations and multiple arrests. Their determination to eradicate the drug trade in the state is evident through their continuous efforts and commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the community.
