Earthquake of magnitude 5.1 jolts Barak Valley; epicenter near Aizawl

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter scale hit 25 East Northeast of Aizawl, Mizoram at around 4:16 pm on Sunday, said National Center for Seismology.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:5.1, Occurred on 21-06-2020, 16:16:24 IST, Lat: 23.80 & Long: 92.96, Depth: 35 Km ,Location: 25km ENE of Aizawl, Mizoram, India,” NCS said in a tweet.

There has been no immediate report of any damage anywhere.

Jolts were also felt at Silchar along with the whole Barak Valley and Northeast.
