"ED and CBI is BJP's B Team not TMC" States Ripun Bora after submitting Radheshyam Biswas's Nomination

On April 1, 2024, the All India Trinamool Congress finally submitted its nomination for Silchar’s candidacy. They selected the newly joined two-time MP from Karimganj, Radheshyam Biswas, as their candidate for Silchar. Today, a joyous march from the TMC office to the DC Cachar’s Office saw Radheshyam Biswas, along with TMC Rajya Sabha MP Susmita Dev and State President of the Party, Ripun Bora, submitting the nomination to DC Cachar, Rohan Kumar Jha.

On April 1, TMC conducted a huge march joined by a large number of supporters. The march hailed various slogans in support of TMC and their candidate, as well as slogans like “BJP Hatao Desh Bachao” were also chanted.

The procession witnessed people from all demographics, from young to old, men and women spanning across different races and creeds. TMC State President, Ripun Bora, addressing the media, hailed the party as a viable alternative to BJP. He stated that the number of people joining the procession showed their support towards TMC and its values.

He then went on to state that people are not satisfied with BJP’s work and they want a good alternative, a strong alternative, and at present, TMC is that alternative. And the support from people shows that this time the elections in Silchar would see TMC competing against BJP strongly.

In the whole state of Assam, TMC is playing for four seats and for Silchar, they had selected Radheshyam Biswas who recently joined TMC. Radheshyam Biswas also addressed the media and stated that BJP had failed to cater to the needs of the people. They promised to make Silchar a Smart City and they couldn’t keep up with it. He then highlighted how Barak Valley faces floods every year and how little the BJP government had done to help out the farmers affected by it.

He also highlighted the unemployment issue of this region which hasn’t been addressed appropriately by the government. He states TMC is a party for the people and to cater to the needs of the people they would do everything they can. He believes that TMC would most definitely win the upcoming elections as they are representing the common people of Silchar.

Many critics of TMC often consider TMC as a B Team for BJP. Both Ripun Bora and Radheshyam Biswas had denied this claim. Ripun Bora stated that if there is any B Team for BJP, that is ED and CBI and not TMC.

TMC Rajya Sabha MP and former Silchar MP Sushmita Dev stated that TMC has to get the votes of all its opposition parties. She stated that TMC has to get the votes of BJP, Congress, AIUDF, and every other party to win as Politics is a game of votes. She then clarifies that TMC stands against three issues, Corruption of BJP, Inflation, and Unemployment. TMC would address these issues and find solutions for the people of Silchar if they win.

She also shed some light on CAA and stated that earlier the people had to show their papers to prove their nationality for NRC and now they have to show their papers for CAA showing they are originally from some other country. She termed NRC and CAA BJP’s biggest scam.
