Elderly man goes missing while attempting to cross Sonai river in search of his cow

An old man went missing after he tried to cross Sonai river by walking. The name of the missing old man is Nurul Hussain Laskar aged 60 years. His father’s name is Akhol Miya Laskar and he is a resident of Dagni Par Part-II. The incident occured at Sonai’s Tandurkandi area. Currently the Police and SDRF are conducting a search operation to locate the old man.

As per reports, the old man’s cow was missing since two days. So he went out of his home to search for his cow. As the water level of Sonai river was low so he tried to cross the river on foot searching for his cow. But tragedy struck him as he got drowned in the middle of the river.

Locals saw him and tried to rescue but couldn’t succeed in locating him. The police was later informed of the incident. The police alongwith SDRF conducted a joint operation for locating the old man, however they couldn’t find him. The operation is currently going on.
