End of India Club's dream run at Bordoloi Trophy comes to an end; loses to Nagaland Police in Semis
Despite creating history in this year’s Bordoloi Trophy, the Silchar champions couldn’t make it to the final as they lost in the semis to Nagaland Police by 1-0.
In the the 68th edition of Bordoloi trophy, India Club became the new favourites by offering spectacular football. They were quite ahead of Nagaland Police in terms of form. However, it couldn’t be converted to goals in Nehru Stadium. After conceding a goal, they became eager to score an equaliser which couldn’t be materialised.
India Club gave splendid football against ASEB, Town Club and ITBP in the group stage. However, that form was missing against Nagaland Police in semi final though the Silchar champions dominated the entire match starting from ball position to everything.
On the other hand, a few players of Nagaland Police seemed offbeat. They got around 2-3 opportunities in the beginning to score of which one could be converted to a goal. Throughout the match, Nagaland Police played defensive football as they scored an early goal. India Club’s defense attempted playing short passes to build up attack which wasted much time while Nagaland Police increased players around the defense. India Club’s defense unit seemed quite kooky in semi final. Problems arose in final pass too. Despite devising attack, the final pass was lagging as India Club’s goal machine Bi Vignesh couldn’t score an equaliser.
Despite getting eliminated in the semis, India Club have created a new history in the 68th edition of Bordoloi Trophy. They have become a new inspiration for entire Barak Valley by offering spectacular football against gargantuan teams like ASEB and Town Club.
