
Eviction in Ambicapatty continues as administration attempts to free drains from encroachment
In a much-awaited move, the administration conducted an eviction operation in the Ambicapatty area on Friday to address the long-standing problem of water logging in the place. The operation which started yesterday is being carried out today as well with the aim of freeing the drains from encroachment and enabling the smooth flow of rainwater.
Ambicapatty has been grappling with the problem of water logging for several years now. Even with a little rain, the area used to get flooded, causing immense inconvenience to the local residents. The situation is so bad that going to school or college becomes a significant challenge for the people of the area.
The local residents had been demanding that the administration take necessary steps to address the problem for a long time. Finally, their pleas were heard as the administration swung into action on Friday.
The operation involved the use of excavators, JCBs and other machinery to free the drains from encroachment. The administration worked tirelessly to ensure that the drains were cleared of all obstacles so that rainwater can flow through them easily.
At present the eviction operation is going on from Ambicapatty Chowringhee to Bharati corner area.
The local residents have expressed their happiness and relief at the successful eviction operation. They hope that the area will finally be free from the problem of water logging, and they can live a comfortable life.
