EVM malfunction stalls voting by an hour in Nrityamayee LP School in Silchar
Today morning when electorates queued up in front of Room Number 1 of Nrityamayee Lower Primary School, Kalimohan Road, Tarapur, they had to keep waiting. The disruption was caused by a malfunctioning of the Electronic Voting Machine.
The presiding officer of the Room Number 1 of the school which happens to be Polling Station 48, informed the appropriate authority about the EVM malfunction.
“We conducted the mock poll and then we found there is an issue with the EVM. The issue was solved, however, it again caused a disruption in the morning. Then we had to call in the Engineers who came and fixed the EVM, since then the election process has been going on without any disruption,” asserted Presiding Officer, Deepika Singha.
She added, the polling agents of all political parties have been taken into confidence and they are with us in the process of free and fair voting. 1,037 electorates are eligible to cast votes in the room number 1 of the Nrityamayee school.
