Fake Assam Police sub-inspector arrested in Cachar; 10th fail man used to roam around wearing uniform

Twentysomething Samid Hussain Barbhuiya has been making headlines for the last few days. He had posted a photograph of himself wearing the uniform of a sub-inspector.

A resident of Gumrah area under Katigorah Police Station, Barbhuiya has not even cleared his tenth. Bengali daily broadsheet, Bartalipi published a report stating that he has flunked tenth at least thrice and yet, how did he become the Sub-inspector of Assam Police.

Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Ramandeep Kaur informed that Samid Hussain Barbhuiya has been arrested. A team of Katigorah Police led by an officer in charge, Naba Kumar Saikia raided a residence in Badarpur and arrested him. He has been kept at Katigorah Police station and is likely to be produced before the judge tomorrow.

The Police sourced the photograph Samid Hussain uploaded wearing the uniform of a sub-inspector and that was enough evidence to arrest him. Also, there are many who are witness to the fact that Barbhuiya has identified himself as a sub-inspector of Police. He claimed in public that he secured a job at Assam Police.

The Police also found out that before Police’s costume, Samid Hussain Barbhuiya used to wear the robe of a doctor and in fact, he went on to treat several patients and prescribed medicines.

What he might have thought to be a fancy dress competition has landed him behind the bars. However, did someone lend the uniform to him or was the uniform stolen, it remains unknown.
