Family allegedly assaulted teacher after he punished student; Katigorah Police lodged case, started investigation
A teacher of 243 Saidpur LP School lodged a Police complaint at Katigorah Police Station accusing guardians of a student of physical assault. Sukesh Paul, a teacher of the school, in his Police complaint mentioned that while he was doing his duty in school on Saturday, mother of a student walked in and instructed others with her to assault him.
He adds that he was abused and attacked with sharp weapons. “I was punched, kicked and the assaulted with a lathi. They kept on abusing me and later snatched my wallet along with Rs 1000 kept in it. I have lost important documents too that were kept inside the wallet,” Sukesh Paul, a resident of Tinsukia added in his Police complaint.
He has pressed the charges against, Bappon Roy, Nibhu Ranjan Roy, Pintu Roy, their mother Meera Rani Roy, her husband Usha Ranjan Roy.
Katigorah Police confirmed that a case has been registered and the officer In Charge said that they have launched the investigation. According to the teacher’s statement, he had summoned the student and asked questions which the student could not answer. Following which, the teacher punished the students and that is what irked Meera Rani Roy.
Police sources informed that they have reports claiming the teacher was involved in physical punishment which the guardian did not like. However, why the entire family went inside the school compound and assaulted the teacher is something that Katigorah Police is still investigating.
