Fatal Accident in Udharbond: One Dead, Two Seriously Injured in Auto-Rickshaw Overturn

A fatal road accident in the Udharbond area of Cachar has taken the life of one, while two individuals sustained serious injuries. The deceased, 22-year-old Injamul Hossain Bordoloi, was a resident of Gosipur Third Block. All three were travelling in an auto-rickshaw and overspeeding is said to be the main cause behind the accident.

The accident occurred around 7 PM on Monday, near the playground beside Doyapur Tea Garden in the jurisdiction of Udharbond Police Station. Reports indicate that an auto-rickshaw, en route from Udharbond to Majhargram, lost control and overturned after reaching the vicinity of Doyapur Tea Garden. Injamul Hossain Laskar and two others were injured in the incident.

Upon receiving the news, Udharbond Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Haukam Chengsan, arrived at the scene with a police team. The injured were then transported to Udharbond Primary Health Center in a police vehicle. Given their critical condition, they were subsequently transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Unfortunately, after reaching the hospital, doctors declared Injamul Hossain Bordoloi dead.

Udharbond MLA, Mihir Kanti Shome also visited the primary health centre to inquire about the incident. Meanwhile, the damaged auto-rickshaw was taken to Udharbond Police Station for further investigation.
