Fatal Crash in Sribhumi: Bus-Truck Collision Kills Driver, Injures Several

A dangerous accident occurred in the Sribhumi district’s Brajendranagar area between a passenger bus and a goods-laden truck. The crash resulted in the death of the bus driver, while several passengers sustained injuries.

The accident occurred on Saturday (March 29) in the Brajendranagar area of Sribhumi. It involved an ASTC passenger bus, bearing registration AS 10 AC 2259, and a container truck, bearing registration AS 26 C 9588. The deceased, Hanif Choudhury, was the bus driver and hailed from Katamani, under the Patharkandi constituency.

Sribhumi Police informed that 13 passengers of the bus had been severely injured, with 3 referred to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.

Visuals from the scene show the bus in a completely wrecked condition, surrounded by a gathering crowd. Road accidents continue to be a serious concern in the valley; fortunately, apart from the driver’s death, no other casualties have been reported so far.

This is not the only road accident that occurred today. Another fatal accident in Hailakandi resulted in the death of a bike rider. Such incidents highlight the importance of adhering to traffic rules and maintaining caution while driving. Road safety measures must be strictly followed to prevent further loss of lives.
