Fatal Crash Near Ranighat Leaves Five Dead; Road Remains Blocked by Locals

A tragic accident on the Silchar-Kalain road, near Ranighat has claimed the lives of five individuals, including two women and three men, who were travelling in an auto-rickshaw. The incident, involving a head-on collision between an auto-rickshaw and a Bolero pick-up vehicle, occurred near Bhairabnagar, Ranighat.

Hifzur Rahman, the former Gram Panchayat President of Bhairabnagar, who arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, confirmed that five people were dead. However, due to the severe injuries and disfigurement, the victims have yet to be identified.

According to reports, the impact of the collision was so intense that the bodies of the victims were found scattered. The Bolero, was heading towards Kalain from Silchar, when the hit between the two vehicles took place, leaving all five auto passengers dead.

Following the incident, a large crowd gathered at the site and took over the road. Some individuals were seen recording the tragic scene, while others attempted to help. As of the time of writing this report, the road remains blocked. Although police have arrived on the scene to manage the situation, the road closure is still in effect.

As per reports, the police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, though further details are still awaited.
