Fire Destroys Newly Built House in Dholai’s Islamabad, Family Left Homeless

A devastating fire completely destroyed the newly built home of a family in Dholai’s Islamabad village on Wednesday evening, leaving them homeless overnight.

According to sources, the fire broke out around 7:30 PM on April 2 in Rahim Uddin’s tin-and-bamboo house. As the location was far from the main road, fire services could not reach it in time, and the lack of water sources left locals helpless. Within minutes, the entire structure was reduced to ashes.

Rahim Uddin, who had been living in a rented house in Hawaithang with his wife and their two young sons, had recently moved into the house gifted by his father-in-law. The family had just started shifting their belongings when tragedy struck. No one was home at the time of the fire.

Rahim Uddin expressed suspicion over the cause of the fire, stating that their new house had no electricity or gas connection. “We hadn’t even lit a stove here. If this wasn’t deliberate, then what caused it?” he questioned.

Local residents echoed his doubts, pointing out the absence of any apparent source of ignition. “The fire didn’t start on its own. Even the gas cylinder was empty,” a neighbour said.

The blaze destroyed all the family’s belongings, including furniture, clothes, and important documents, leaving them in complete despair. With no shelter, they are now looking to the government for urgent assistance. Locals have also urged authorities to extend support to the distressed family.
