Firhad Hakim led TMC delegation to land in Silchar tomorrow; do not dare to provoke, threatens Parimal
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee led TMC has been vocal about its support towards the NRC left outs. A high-profile team from the political party is set to visit Silchar tomorrow to take a stalk of the ground reality
But this hasn’t gone down well with the local political parties in Barak Valley. Local BJP members, including Forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya have threatened to take legal action against TMC team if they try to provoke the people.
As per information coming in, Hon’ble minister WB Firhad Haikim, will be leading the eight members delegation that will land in Silchar at around 2 pm. Others in the team include Shukhendu Shekhar Roy (MP), Nadim ul Haque (MP), Arpita Ghosh (MP), Mamata Balathakur (MP), Dr. Ratna Dey Nag (MP), Dr. Kakali Ghosh Dastidar (MP) and Mohua Moitra (MLA).
As per their itinenary, they will arrive in Silchar where they will attend a public convention organised by the local citizens forum. There, they will try and understand on what grounds were the 40 lakh people left out of NRC. After spending the night there, the members will travel to Guwahati on Friday. There, they will meet intellectuals and eminent citizens before dispersing for Kolkata or Delhi in the evening.
