Foggy Nights Continue in Silchar as Winter Slowly Retreats

Silchar has been experiencing a shift in its winter season. Earlier this month, just before Makar Sankranti, the town was gripped by shivering cold, with temperatures dropping to as low as 11°C. Roads were blanketed with thick fog, making mornings chilly and visibility low. Now, as the month progresses, temperatures are rising slightly, hinting that winter is gradually retreating.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has shared the weather forecast for Silchar from today, 22 January, to 28 January, and fog or mist is expected every morning. Let’s look at the details:

Today’s weather features a minimum temperature of 15°C and a maximum of 25.4°C. The morning began with fog and mist, while the rest of the day will have a partly cloudy sky. Tomorrow, 23 January, Silchar will witness similar weather conditions. However, the maximum temperature is expected to rise slightly to 28°C.

On 24 January, the minimum temperature will drop to 14°C, while the maximum will remain steady at 28°C. Fog will continue to dominate the mornings, keeping the winter feel alive. A slight change will occur on 25 January, as the maximum temperature will rise to 29°C. The minimum temperature will remain at 14°C, with fog expected in the morning.

On Republic Day, 26 January, the minimum temperature will increase slightly to 15°C, while the maximum will stay at 29°C. Foggy mornings will still be a feature of the day. The weather for 27 and 28 January mirrors that of 26 January. The minimum will remain at 15°C, and the maximum at 29°C, with fog or mist predicted in the morning hours.

While earlier in January the temperatures dropped significantly, the lowest now expected is 14°C. This gradual warming trend suggests that winter is slowly losing its grip. However, foggy and misty mornings continue to remind us that the season is not over yet.

It’s important to note that weather predictions, while based on reliable data, are not 100% accurate. Temperatures may fluctuate slightly from the forecast, but they are expected to remain close to the predicted range. Residents should prepare for minor variations while enjoying the current pleasant weather.
