Forum For Social Harmony demonstrates in Silchar with banner feat. text in Assamese and Bengali
In a commendable display of unity and peaceful coexistence, the Forum For Social Harmony, headquartered in Silchar, launched a program to condemn the recent incident involving the tearing down of Bengali banners in the Brahmaputra Valley. The organization, in stark contrast to the previous act of aggression, chose a harmonious approach to denounce the divisive actions.
The forum’s banner featured text written in both Assamese and Bengali, sending a strong message that language is an integral part of our lives and should never be a cause of aggression. This gesture symbolized the values of inclusivity, acceptance, and respect for linguistic diversity.
Gathering near the Bhasha Shaheed Smaran (Language Martyr’s Memorial) Statue in Rangirkhari, members of the Forum For Social Harmony held a peaceful demonstration to emphasize their commitment to fostering harmony and unity. Spokespeople for the organization unequivocally condemned the recent acts perpetrated by fringe elements in the Brahmaputra Valley, advocating for the preservation of cultural pluralism.
After the demonstration, members of the Forum installed the solitary banner at the Puja Pandal in Ambicapatty, Silchar. The members said that they will initiate more initiatives as their mark of protest against the aggression in the Bramhaputra Valley, however, not taking the same route of insulting any particular language.
