Gaurav Gogoi’s massive road show in BJP Bastion; “TMC should focus in Bengal,” says Cong MP

Gaurav Gogoi’s huge rally in BJP Bastion attracts thousands of followers. Congress has been on the receiving end of criticism for not going all out in campaigning for their Lok Sabha candidate from Silchar Surya Kanta Sarkar.

Silchar goes for poll on April 26 in what is a three-way ballot-battle between Congress, BJP and TMC. Amit Shah held a massive in Silchar and Mamata Banerjee pulled in thousands for a meeting.

Congress, however, restricted itself to grassroots campaigning. Today, the leading opposition party of the nation exhibited a show of strength at the BJP bastion in Silchar. The rally started from Congress Bhawan and foot-marched till Rangirkhari.

“TMC should focus in Bengal instead of wasting time in Assam,” asserted Gaurav Gogoi in Silchar. It is worth mentioning here that TMC is aggressively campaigning in Congress’ vote bank and is being accused of playing for the BJP despite being a part of the INDI Alliance.

Gogoi added, “The young voters of India will not fall prey to Narendra Modi’s attempt to polarise. The communal vote bank politics of BJP has an expiry date and that date has arrived,” while speaking about Prime Minister’s speech stating that Congress manifesto is to secure Muslim minorities and provide them the first right to India’s property.

The rally was attended by more than 10,000 people in Silchar when the chief minister of Assam said Congress is in ICU. “This election is a very important election. This election is to safeguard fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution of India. This election is about not letting BJP strip off SC, ST community from their rights,” asserted Gogoi.

He expressed his optimism when asked about the possibilities of securing seats in Barak Valley.
