Gautam Roy's Flip-flop - I was in Congress, I am in Congress and will be in Congress.
It is not surprising that the Congress leader Gautam Roy is in centerpiece of the news but if the news of congress party’s dominant leader and the former Congress minister is going to leave the Congress and joining BJP spreads all around then it is normal that the political atmosphere of the Barak Valley will be heated up with speculation. So, this speculation has become a topic of discussion in the political circles in recent days.
However, the former minister himself did end the speculation. “Katlicherra people voted for me and I was MLA for thirty years and became minister four times. I got lot of success in life by doing politics from the Congress party”. Am I going to the BJP? Pouring water over the recent speculation, Former minister Gautam Roy said frankly, “I am not leaving Congress. From now on please do not listen to the speculation”.
Former minister Gautam Roy appeared suddenly at Ranggabak GP meeting at Nazrul Bhaban in Katlicherra and told this to reporters on Sunday noon. He also said that the people of the village were deprived of governmental privileges due to some brokers during the previous government’s tenure. It is not happening very much during the current government’s regime. The GP meeting was held to record the name of those, who did not appear in the list of Prime Minister’s housing Scheme. Gramsebika Sonali Singha conducted the meeting and along with others Katlicherra former AP president Gopi Dey, Suman Singha, Prasad Deb, GP secretary Debobrato Nath, GPC Rupak Dhar, Nabarun Acharya, Sanjay Das and others spoke in the meeting.
